Cega is one of the UK's leading third party assistance companies, specialising in travel insurance policy handling and global medical assistance. We have our own fleet of air ambulances and also offer a private air Charter service.
Cega was founded in 1973 when two brothers, Graham and Clive Ponsford, set up an air taxi company. Operations soon changed to meet a growing demand for repatriation of sick and injured holidaymakers and domestic NHS transfers by aircraft. The founders decided to make Cega a dedicated air ambulance service, employing its own flight and medical crews. Thirty years on and Cega now offers a range of insurance and travel related technical services complementing the medical assistance and repatriation services.
A highly qualified Multi-lingual workforce of over 400 staff including policy claims handlers and medical and flight operations specialists are backed by an IT system which is a model for the industry. In the midst of growth, the company retains its innovative and friendly style, along with the core values it has held throughout its three decades of existence.
Cega's clients include many of the UK's largest insurance brands: Norwich Union, Saga, HSBC, Cheltenham and Gloucester, Barclays and Medicare to name just a few.
